Virginia Vo Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA – Go Bruins! Enrolling in the summer, study abroad program in Paris was unquestionably the most memorable experience I had while in college.  All the places I visited in the City of Love, took my breath away.

Photography is part of history.  We take pictures so that we can preserve and relive the past.  Unless you have discovered the much sought after Fountain of Youth, then you’re probably like me – a person who believes that life is too short…  My favorite professor once said, “I am not sure what else is beyond this but what I do know is that life is all about memories; we need to remember and capture all of the unforgettable memories that makes us who we are today.”  This one liner hit me like an anvil because for someone with a two second memory, these unforgettable memories become forgettable rather quickly.  So it’s important that we capture the essence of time. How can we do this?  Uh ha!  You guessed it.  Yes, the solution is to take lots of pictures!  Not just ordinary pictures, but pictures instilled with life.

Aside from spending time snapping away with my camera to capture the beauty of idyllic moments and seeing life in different perspectives behind various lenses, in my spare time, I enjoy sketching, scrap booking, traveling, playing scrabble, watching movies, bike riding, camping, eating at new restaurants, snowboarding, and hanging out with my hubby, family, and friends.

Random fact:  Those who know me, know that my appetite for trying new food is insatiable.  I would try anything, yes ANYTHING if it’s edible, not just once but twice.  Throw me on Fear Factor and I guarantee, I’ll take the exotic eating challenge course!

This is my domain to share my photos, thoughts, updates and parts of my life!  Let me provide you with a personal and one-of-a kind experience resulting in creative images that encapsulates the joy and beauty of your special moments.  If you like what you see, please feel free to leave a comment or contact me.

The Vu Family

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!  Wishing you and your family a magical holiday season filled with love, memories and all that’s merry! :)

Enjoy what may well be my last photo shoot of 2011!  Kathy is the proud mother of four beautiful girls: Vivian, Kayla, Sophia and Leah and an auntie to the RAD, Timothy!  We took many detours before reaching the promised destination and when we arrived, it was game on for yet another thriller roller coaster ride. The girls were in their own fantasy land made up of Christmas tree heaven.  Right when the girls stepped foot on the pavement, they ran amuck excitedly finding and claiming their desired trees.  When we asked Sophia, the second youngest, why she believed the tree was perfect for her, she innocently replied, “Because it’s my size!” Kids do say the darnest things! :)

Happy Holidays and see you all next year! :)   Enjoy!

The Duong Family

Meet Vivian Tran of The All Made Up Team and the favorite guys in her life!  I have heard so much about Vivian and her amazing hair and make-up talents.  It was great to finally meet her in person and photograph the beautiful Duong family!  I especially loved their wardrobe selection and the Christmas themed colors. Ryan was SUPER adorable in his paper boy hat as he explored the village and posed readily for the camera!  Thank you for being so pleasant and fun! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :)

The Nguyen Family

I spent an early Sunday morning photographing the adorable Nguyen family.  I am so glad they picked the San Juan Village because it’s so pretty this time of year.  We had a great time exploring the little village making pit-stops photographing at various nooks.  Celine is such a joy to photograph especially when she shows off those pearly whites.  Thank you so much to the Nguyen family and Happy Holidays.  :)

The Greene Family 2011

I love seeing clients again year after year for family portraits!  The kids grow up so fast and the best part is when they actually remember me……yes, me as in Virginia – my name – and not just some photographer that jumps around everywhere and chases after them.  We have a friendship or at least I like to think of it that way.  :)   The Greene family is just one of the sweetest families ever…and gorgeous I might add!  This year I partnered with I Heart Sweets by Tyna to sweeten up their photo shoot!  Thanks for an awesome shoot and I look forward to next year! :)

The Boyer Family 2011

Fast forward three years and my goodness how quickly these Boyer kids have grown!  It was yet another great year spending time with them on a sunny afternoon in Dana Point at the harbor and grassland.   As always, it was a pleasure to capture the youth, beauty, and love of the Boyer family.   Their close-knitted bond and friendship brings inspiration to us all.  Smiles :)

After a fun session at the docks, we decided to migrate to a nearby park so the kids can run-a-muck.  Here are some of my favorite shots! :)
