Virginia Vo Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA – Go Bruins! Enrolling in the summer, study abroad program in Paris was unquestionably the most memorable experience I had while in college.  All the places I visited in the City of Love, took my breath away.

Photography is part of history.  We take pictures so that we can preserve and relive the past.  Unless you have discovered the much sought after Fountain of Youth, then you’re probably like me – a person who believes that life is too short…  My favorite professor once said, “I am not sure what else is beyond this but what I do know is that life is all about memories; we need to remember and capture all of the unforgettable memories that makes us who we are today.”  This one liner hit me like an anvil because for someone with a two second memory, these unforgettable memories become forgettable rather quickly.  So it’s important that we capture the essence of time. How can we do this?  Uh ha!  You guessed it.  Yes, the solution is to take lots of pictures!  Not just ordinary pictures, but pictures instilled with life.

Aside from spending time snapping away with my camera to capture the beauty of idyllic moments and seeing life in different perspectives behind various lenses, in my spare time, I enjoy sketching, scrap booking, traveling, playing scrabble, watching movies, bike riding, camping, eating at new restaurants, snowboarding, and hanging out with my hubby, family, and friends.

Random fact:  Those who know me, know that my appetite for trying new food is insatiable.  I would try anything, yes ANYTHING if it’s edible, not just once but twice.  Throw me on Fear Factor and I guarantee, I’ll take the exotic eating challenge course!

This is my domain to share my photos, thoughts, updates and parts of my life!  Let me provide you with a personal and one-of-a kind experience resulting in creative images that encapsulates the joy and beauty of your special moments.  If you like what you see, please feel free to leave a comment or contact me.

Aren’t these the perfect Dorothy shoes?

As Halloween is quickly approaching I went to look for my costume but failed to come up with anything different from the past years.  Disappointed and out of ideas I decided to go to DSW to shop for some boots.  It was my first time there and boy was it shoe heaven!!! :)  Thanks to my dear friend, Lynette who advised me to check out DSW for brand name boots and shoes at a lesser price!  I didn’t expect to spend too much time in the store but I was like a little kid in a candy store, trying on almost every pair in my size.  My hubby, Brian was definitely not a happy camper but he was a good sport.  He gave me the autonomy to spend as much time and money on shoes (without complaining) since I’ve been a good wifey and haven’t shopped at all. :) By the time I was ready to check out, I had 3 pairs of stilettos and a pair of knee high boots.  As I was walking to the check out line, I noticed a small room with a big sign CLEARANCE above it!  Of course I couldn’t resist to sneak a quick peek inside.  Well this is where I spotted a glittery red pair of shoes…and the best part was that it was on sale for $30!!!  I was instantly inspired and knew with this inspirational piece…I was going to be Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ!!!

This Halloween is different from years before in many ways and marks a change in our lives.  We typically attend parties and celebrate for the entire Halloween weekend.  BUT this year we are toning things down a bit and celebrating only on Friday.  Why?  Well for many reasons…1) it’s our first year in our new home and we thought it would be nice to stay in on Halloween day and pass out candy 2) For those who know us, our second reason is quite obvious…Nov 1st will mark our 1 year wedding anniversary!  WOW how quickly time flies!!!  We intend to cook up some good lovin’ over bottles and bottles of wine and watch our wedding video!  haha yes it was my idea and Brian agreed! :) In any case here is our wedding site should you like to join us in memory lane HERE. 3)  plain and simple…i guess we’re growing up! haha OK the truth………..our worn out bodies tapped out awhile ago…haha :P

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!
