Canada: Whistler and Vancouver!

We just got back from a wonderful winter vacation celebrating Brian’s early 30th B-Day in Canada! Our mini vacation lasted for 5 nights and 6 days leaving us yearning for more time in the beautiful snow village of Whistler and the hustle and bustle city of Vancouver! It was quite an unforgettable and irreplaceable experience especially knowing that we were snowboarding down the slopes where the 2010 Winter Olympics will take place. Nevertheless…GO USA!!!

Here is a picture taken by an Aussie in front of our hotel in Whistler. Yes…surprisingly there were more Aussies than Canadians in Whistler! And boy are they tall and mighty yummy! hehe :p

This was taken from the balcony of our hotel on Robson Street in Vancouver. Although there are no people visibly depicted in this photo, believe me when I tell you that Vancouver is the Hong Kong of the West. Conclusion of Canada? Canada is a true cultural mosaic.

New Moon

I love Edward Cullen…I can say it over and over again like a broken record and never be bored. I am surprised that Brian hasn’t already choked me to death…hmmm however, he did sneer at me the other day out of sheer annoyance. My poor baby…Hehe if you haven’t noticed…I am indeed a Twilight addict!!! I recently joined the billion teeny boppers and jumped on the bandwagon with my head held high and proud! I was first exposed to Twilight through my lil sister-in-law, whom at the time was glued to her books. I alluded the fact that she was either sick or something was strangely wrong with the picture. Why was she staying in on weekends and so studious all of a sudden!? Well, when I learned that she was reading for leisure and not out of obligations, I challenged myself to see what this madness was all about. Turns out that the only madness HERE was that I haven’t discovered it sooner!!!

Twilight gripped me from day one and as soon as I realized it, I was flipping through the pages of Breaking Dawn. I feel like I have to check into Twilighters Anonymous because as the days get closer to the opening night of New Moon…all I can think about is EDWARD!!! Best part is that I don’t have to wait until November 20th.

When Nordstrom announced its exclusive BP New Moon Event, which includes pre-released New Moon Tickets for the night of November 19th with gift of purchase, I went nuts shopping!!! Yep, I had to get my passes. See you all at New Moon!!!

As Halloween is quickly approaching I went to look for my costume but failed to come up with anything different from the past years. Disappointed and out of ideas I decided to go to DSW to shop for some boots. It was my first time there and boy was it shoe heaven!!! Thanks to my dear friend, Lynette who advised me to check out DSW for brand name boots and shoes at a lesser price! I didn’t expect to spend too much time in the store but I was like a little kid in a candy store, trying on almost every pair in my size. My hubby, Brian was definitely not a happy camper but he was a good sport. He gave me the autonomy to spend as much time and money on shoes (without complaining) since I’ve been a good wifey and haven’t shopped at all. By the time I was ready to check out, I had 3 pairs of stilettos and a pair of knee high boots. As I was walking to the check out line, I noticed a small room with a big sign CLEARANCE above it! Of course I couldn’t resist to sneak a quick peek inside. Well this is where I spotted a glittery red pair of shoes…and the best part was that it was on sale for $30!!! I was instantly inspired and knew with this inspirational piece…I was going to be Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ!!!

This Halloween is different from years before in many ways and marks a change in our lives. We typically attend parties and celebrate for the entire Halloween weekend. BUT this year we are toning things down a bit and celebrating only on Friday. Why? Well for many reasons…1) it’s our first year in our new home and we thought it would be nice to stay in on Halloween day and pass out candy 2) For those who know us, our second reason is quite obvious…Nov 1st will mark our 1 year wedding anniversary! WOW how quickly time flies!!! We intend to cook up some good lovin’ over bottles and bottles of wine and watch our wedding video! haha yes it was my idea and Brian agreed!
