Virginia Vo Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA – Go Bruins! Enrolling in the summer, study abroad program in Paris was unquestionably the most memorable experience I had while in college.  All the places I visited in the City of Love, took my breath away.

Photography is part of history.  We take pictures so that we can preserve and relive the past.  Unless you have discovered the much sought after Fountain of Youth, then you’re probably like me – a person who believes that life is too short…  My favorite professor once said, “I am not sure what else is beyond this but what I do know is that life is all about memories; we need to remember and capture all of the unforgettable memories that makes us who we are today.”  This one liner hit me like an anvil because for someone with a two second memory, these unforgettable memories become forgettable rather quickly.  So it’s important that we capture the essence of time. How can we do this?  Uh ha!  You guessed it.  Yes, the solution is to take lots of pictures!  Not just ordinary pictures, but pictures instilled with life.

Aside from spending time snapping away with my camera to capture the beauty of idyllic moments and seeing life in different perspectives behind various lenses, in my spare time, I enjoy sketching, scrap booking, traveling, playing scrabble, watching movies, bike riding, camping, eating at new restaurants, snowboarding, and hanging out with my hubby, family, and friends.

Random fact:  Those who know me, know that my appetite for trying new food is insatiable.  I would try anything, yes ANYTHING if it’s edible, not just once but twice.  Throw me on Fear Factor and I guarantee, I’ll take the exotic eating challenge course!

This is my domain to share my photos, thoughts, updates and parts of my life!  Let me provide you with a personal and one-of-a kind experience resulting in creative images that encapsulates the joy and beauty of your special moments.  If you like what you see, please feel free to leave a comment or contact me.

The Boyer Family 2011

Fast forward three years and my goodness how quickly these Boyer kids have grown!  It was yet another great year spending time with them on a sunny afternoon in Dana Point at the harbor and grassland.   As always, it was a pleasure to capture the youth, beauty, and love of the Boyer family.   Their close-knitted bond and friendship brings inspiration to us all.  Smiles :)

After a fun session at the docks, we decided to migrate to a nearby park so the kids can run-a-muck.  Here are some of my favorite shots! :)

Wedding: Quyen & Austin

I had the pleasure of second shooting a wedding with none other than the awesome Kimlephotography not too long ago.  The bride and groom were sweeter than sugar and very much in love.  Quyen looked radiantly beautiful and Austin was beaming with joy.  Here are a few pictures from their big day!  Enjoy!

Baby Shower: Vina & Willy

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of capturing Vina’s baby shower held at the Vantage Town-home Clubhouse.  You may remember Nyla from my previous posts. I was thrilled when she contacted me about her best friend’s baby shower.  Vina and Willy are already blessed with two handsome boys and now she is pregnant with her first baby girl.  The butterfly theme was just too cute and perfect for the occasion.  I especially love the pink and purple details thoughtfully placed throughout the space, not to mention Nyla’s homemade yummy cupcakes!  Vina was beautifully glowing with happiness as her family and friends showered her with love and gifts. Congratulations to the proud parents on their bundle of joy!

The Cruz Family

There is always a first time for everything.  Believe it or not, this is the first time I have ever attended a Baptism, let alone shoot one.  The stained windows, high vaulted ceilings, natural ambient light, and of course the fun-filled Cruz Family set the tone for a memorable and monumental day for Nathan, their youngest of four adorable boys.

The little munchkin, who ROCKED an all-white suit, was quite aware of his environment.  He embraced each moment and was very playful throughout the entire ceremony.  Judy and Jose have been truly blessed with a beautiful family.

Wedding: Lydia & Steve

Lydia and Steve had an amazing, emotional wedding ceremony at the Heritage Museum in Santa Ana.  Their special day was filled with many personal touches and meaningful details, including the three flags representing their origins and nationalities.  During their exchange of wedding vows, I found myself tearing up and laughing interchangeably as the pastor shared their love story.  Lydia and Steve have fought long and hard to finally be together and I couldn’t be happier to capture their memorable union.  Their ceremony was a unique celebration of their love.  I especially enjoyed their playful catwalk down the aisle after their I do’s. With Steve’s great humor and Lydia’s sweet nature, it’s definitely a recipe for everlasting love and happiness! :)

Congratulations to the happily ever after couple!
