Welcome to my Blog!

I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA – Go Bruins! Enrolling in the summer, study abroad program in Paris was unquestionably the most memorable experience I had while in college.  All the places I visited in the City of Love, took my breath away.

Photography is part of history.  We take pictures so that we can preserve and relive the past.  Unless you have discovered the much sought after Fountain of Youth, then you’re probably like me – a person who believes that life is too short…  My favorite professor once said, “I am not sure what else is beyond this but what I do know is that life is all about memories; we need to remember and capture all of the unforgettable memories that makes us who we are today.”  This one liner hit me like an anvil because for someone with a two second memory, these unforgettable memories become forgettable rather quickly.  So it’s important that we capture the essence of time. How can we do this?  Uh ha!  You guessed it.  Yes, the solution is to take lots of pictures!  Not just ordinary pictures, but pictures instilled with life.

Aside from spending time snapping away with my camera to capture the beauty of idyllic moments and seeing life in different perspectives behind various lenses, in my spare time, I enjoy sketching, scrap booking, traveling, playing scrabble, watching movies, bike riding, camping, eating at new restaurants, snowboarding, and hanging out with my hubby, family, and friends.

Random fact:  Those who know me, know that my appetite for trying new food is insatiable.  I would try anything, yes ANYTHING if it’s edible, not just once but twice.  Throw me on Fear Factor and I guarantee, I’ll take the exotic eating challenge course!

This is my domain to share my photos, thoughts, updates and parts of my life!  Let me provide you with a personal and one-of-a kind experience resulting in creative images that encapsulates the joy and beauty of your special moments.  If you like what you see, please feel free to leave a comment or contact me.

Alma & Steve – Part I

The sun was beaming with such delight on this beautiful Saturday afternoon.  Serendipitously, it was the first sunny weekend since the rainy winter season. Alma and Steve couldn’t have picked a better location for the radiantly blooming weather!

We met at the whimsical village of Mission San Juan Capistrano and I knew immediately after my introduction to Steve, that it was going to be a fun-filled day! I met Alma awhile ago through a referral and was elated when she picked me to photograph their special day.  Alma forewarned me that Steve was not much of a “picture person” and I figured he was like most men who aren’t fond of taking pictures.  Boy was I wrong; the second I pulled my camera from the bag and glanced up, they were both already in model-like positions and ready to strike a pose!

Not only are they a beautiful couple, but they’re also SUPER fun to work with.  I felt like I was at a comedy show because of Steve’s playful antics.  It’s no wonder that Alma is always cheery because Steve is quite the jokester!  Fun times!!! :)  I had such a great time with this love duo that I had to split up their post into two parts!  Stay tuned for Part II!

The Boyer Family – Take II

When you gather a growing modern family as big as a village of Timbuktu, you will experience nothing short of wackiness, wildness, smiles and love. This is my second shoot with the Boyer Family and I must say, observing the intricate interactions between this closely knit family truly delights me.  Mom, Jennie, and Dad, Michael, still look stunning amidst having to stay focused in front of the camera while occasionally having to glance over to check on the kids.  Austin, the tweenager, is maturing into a handsome heart throb – watch out girls!  Wyatt, the Jennie-look-alike, is no longer a toddler but a playful and loving boy – he loves the camera!  The triplets, Violet, Oliver and Jasmin, can now walk and have unique personalities of their own, which means they know what they want or don’t want – and like all kids, they don’t like  to sit still!  There’s just something about kids, perhaps it’s their innocence and plump cheeks, but when they smile, it just lights up the universe.  The Boyers definitely make a beautiful and happy family and I’m sure everyone would agree!  Thanks the Boyer Family for an awesome shoot!  :)

Engagement: Sara & Abdel

I vividly remember the first time I met Sara and Abdel because they were a mirror image of my husband and I when we were first engaged.  They have a clear picture of exactly what they want from start to finish and are whole-heartedly thrilled to carry out their dream wedding.  I LOVE that about them!  This is what I call commitment and passion!

I spent a wonderful afternoon with the beautiful couple and couldn’t have asked for a better engagement shoot.  Sara’s wardrobe was fit for a queen!  From head to toe, she was adorned with lavishly gorgeous gowns and quaint jewelry.  I was excited and amazed with every outfit change and just when I thought the apex was reached, she continued to dazzle me further with more extravagant looks.  You’re going to have to trust me on this (literally) because most of the pictures are private and for their eyes only.  However, Sara and Abdel were kind enough to give me a short period to shoot public shots to showcase on my blog (by agreeing to this and out of respect to her faith traditions, she graciously had to cover her head with a scarf).

Thanks Sara and Adbel for a delightful shoot and I look forward to your magical wedding in January!

Jocelynn & Pete – Part II

Fireman meets Nurse = Future Mr. and Mrs. Schumachers!  Besides putting out fires and saving lives, the dynamic duo have a passion for classic cars.  When Jocelynn suggested using cars in their engagement shoot, I was floored with excitement.  I mean come on now, what can be sexier than gorgeous people posing in front of classic cars?  This 1964 Ford Galaxie Station Wagon is a restoration project so if you notice, Pete is sporting a jumpsuit!  Talk about playing the role! What a fun shoot and thanks Jocelynn and Pete for being such great models.
